The Competence feature in Simployer One empowers you to identify, assess, and develop the key skills your organization needs — today and in the future.

Whether you’re an HR administrator, manager, or employee, this guide will help you make the most of the feature from day one.

Why We Built the Competence feature

Supporting employee growth and aligning skills with business needs is a core HR priority. With Competence, we aim to make it easy for you to track, assess, and develop the skills and manage certificates so you can build the right team for today and tomorrow.

🚀 Getting Started: Step-by-Step

👤 For Admins & Owners

  1. Access the Competence Library

  2. Create competencies (skills or certificates)

    1. Click New competence to define a new skill or certificate.

    2. Add a name and description.

    3. Choose a requirement scope:

      1. Require for everyone, or

      2. Target specific teams, departments, or offices, or

      3. Add it without requiring it for anyone yet

  3. View company-wide overviews

    1. Skills: Go to the Employee Competence tab and filter by a specific skill to see who has it and at what proficiency level.

    2. Certificates: Go to the Employee Competence tab and filter by a specific Certificate to see who holds it and when it expires.

✅ As an Admin/Owner, you also have access to all Manager and Employee features below.
