Approving and rejecting Time off requests

How to handle incoming Time off requests as a Manager

Written by Tobias Carneteg

In most organizations, it's up to the Manager to approve or reject an employee's requests for time off.

Instead of having the requests being handed to you by emails, phone calls or spreadsheets, we have made it easy for you as a Manager to handle everything in Alexis.

In Alexis > Time off > List you get an overview of all the pending requests. However, there are multiple ways of how you can manage time off requests.

Manage time off requests

You will be notified whenever someone has handed in a time off request for you to review. You can chose to get notification via one or several of the following:

  • Email

  • Chatbots

Email

  1. Click on the link in the email to get redirected to the time off list

  2. In "Leaves for me to approve" you can click on "Review" for each request and choose to "Approve" or "Reject" as well as leaving a comment to the person who sent the request.

  3. The person will then receive a notification regarding the status of their request.

  4. Once a request has been approved you will be able to see it in the calendar view as well. Your employees will be marked with a purple dot next to their name.

Chatbots

As soon as an employee requests time off you can get notified via our chatbots. From here you can instantly approve or reject requests without the need of visiting the Alexis. web application.

Slack

Teams

If you have approved a time request but need to revoke it, you can find more information in the following article:
