Time Off enhancements
We are excited to introduce several improvements to the Time Off module. These updates enhance flexibility, compliance, and user experience for employees, managers, admins and owners.
New features and enhancements
Self certified sick leave
A new leave type is now available, allowing companies to manage self certified sick leaves with greater flexibility. Organizations can customize allowances, including the number of days and occurrences, as well as enable open-ended leave registrations.
When adding a self certified sick leave with an open end date, employees will get a subtle in-app “Register back to work” task, to remind them to add the end date when they are back working.
Leave attachments
Employees, managers, and administrators can now upload PDF attachments (such as sick notes) when creating a leave request or after its creation. This functionality applies to all leave types, ensuring better documentation and compliance. Reports will also indicate that a leave has an attachment.
Graded value for sick and parental leave
Users can now specify a graded absence percentage when registering sick leave and parental leave. These values are incorporated into reports, statistics, and exports. The graded value for parental leave is primarily relevant to Swedish regulations. Graded leaves can be whole numbers (50%) or with decimals (37,5%).
Improved registration and validation for care of sick child leave
Employees and managers will now see a real-time count of used days for sick child leave within the current year when submitting or approving a request. Additionally, market-specific entitlement rules (currently applicable to Sweden and Norway) are displayed, providing clarity and compliance guidance.
Leave days count for all leave types
Employees and managers will now see a real-time count of used days for all leave types within the relevant period. This way it is easy to how many days you have used so far this period, and it will serve as a guide to see if you are about to exceed the allowance.
New statistics page in Profile -> Time Off
A dedicated leave statistics view is now available for employees, allowing them to review leave types and usage over the past year or a selected period.
Timestamps for leave actions
You can now see when a leave was requested, approved, or rejected, improving transparency for employees and managers.
Enhanced vacation balance management
Unused vacation days can now be carried over to the following year, in accordance with Norwegian regulations, based on policy settings.
The vacation balance view has been improved for all employees, offering market specific views for Norwegian and Swedish employees.
Administrators can now make vacation balance adjustments directly from the employee's time-off page under vacation balance, in addition to the existing option in the Time Off - Overview.
Enhanced leave-related notifications
Leave notifications have been improved across email, Slack, and Teams to ensure better communication and transparency. Users and approvers will receive notifications when:
An employee registers back to work on an open-ended leave.
A leave request is approved, denied, or modified.
Pending leave requests are updated.
These notifications will be sent across all channels to all stakeholders.
